On Sunday 13th October 2019, Matthew, Meryem, Robin, Simon, Stuart and Harley ran the Oxford Half Marathon on behalf Occtopus and we cannot be more thankful for all of their support!
Approximately 10,000 people registered to take part in the ninth annual half marathon to take to Oxford’s streets. Light rain was predicted for the day, but unfortunately on Sunday morning, the 10,000 participants had to battle the elements. Although the weather was terrible, spirits remained high throughout the day across the streets of Oxford.
Below you can see a photograph of our fastest runner, Matthew Colley, who said he was ‘smiling despite the weather’! Matthew finished in 1:36:49 but was initially aiming for around 1 hour and 45 minutes, so this was much better than he expected and we are very proud of him and all our amazing runners for all their efforts.
